Why Revise the Test of Animal-Friendliness?

Kind Choices expects to make a major revision to the Test of Animal-Friendliness every 1-2 years. Organizations will be required to submit the new major version of the Test within four months of its release in order to remain in the Animal-Friendly Giving Guide. If we don't receive their test within that time, their listing in the Guide may be unpublished until we do. We will do this for the following reasons.

To encourage more organizations to take the Test
Some organizations may not be convinced of the value of being in the guide and may be reluctant to give up lucrative sponsorships by animal-abusing companies. An organization can take the test knowing that they can decide not to be part of the Animal-Friendly Giving Guide after the Test is revised by simply not resubmitting their Test.

To allow for revisions of the Test
Kind Choices plans to continually revise the Test of Animal-Friendliness to ensure that it is a meaningful and fair standard by which to grade organizations. In making these revisions, we will consider feedback from users of the Animal-Friendly Giving Guide, the opinion of experts in animal-welfare and trends in markets and public opinion.

To ensure accurate information
Organizations dissolve all the time. Requiring organizations to resubmit their Test after a major revision allows Kind Choices a means of removing defunct organizations from the Guide.
