The Guide

The organizations below have earned a grade of at least a C on one version of Kind Choices' Test of Animal-Friendliness. See the page Animal-Friendliness for an explanation of The Test, and see Kind Choices' current surveys for opportunities to share what "animal-friendly" means to you. Your survey responses will influence the development of the successor to the Test, The Survey of Animal-Friendliness.

Click on an organization's name for more details about which criteria in The Test they have met. After more organizations have been added to the Guide, an option will be provided to search for criteria by criteria met, category and more.

Inclusion in The Animal-Friendly Giving Guide does not imply an endorsement by Kind Choices. Before donating to an organization, we encourage you to research it carefully. The Better Business Bureau's Wise Giving Alliance provides reports on certain nationally soliciting 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations in the United States. These reports describe an organization's program expenses, governance, fund raising methods, sources of income and the percent of total expenses they spend on programs, fund raising and administration. They also note whether or not an organization meets the Alliance's "20 Standards for Charity Accountability."

While Kind Choices makes an effort to verify each organization's claims of animal-friendliness, we cannot guarantee the accuracy of their claims. If you have reason to believe that an organization listed has not completed the Test of Animal-Friendliness accurately, please contact Kind Choices with your concerns.

For websites of the animal-friendly campaigns of other organizations and lists of the organizations that endorse them, see the Other Resources page.
