Featured Organization: Big Wildlife
Big Wildlife is unique among wildlife advocacy organizations in that they work to defend animals as individuals, not conserve them as species. Their main focus is on large carnivorous and omnivorous animals such as cougars, bears, coyotes, and wolves in North America. They have led the campaign to save Oregon’s cougars, galvanized public support for these magnificent, wild cats and received extensive media coverage for their efforts. They also initiated a campaign to end Oregon’s barbaric policy of killing bears who peel bark from trees on corporate timberlands. Most recently, they exposed the federal government's gruesome practice of beheading coyote pups with shovels. In the coming months, Big Wildlife will launch its ambitious Communities Conserving Carnivores program to assist communities throughout the west with developing strategies to peacefully coexist with wildlife.
Kind Choices is proud to include Big Wildlife in the Animal-Friendly Giving Guide and wishes them continued success in their efforts to protect wild animals. You can view their listing in the Guide here.
